Vail opens Game Creek Bowl, Chair 11

Vail officials on Friday opened Game Creek Bowl and Chair 11, bringing Vail’s total skiable acreage to more than 1,000 just in time for a weekend storm and two more storms moving into the state next week. Here’s the full press release from Vail:

Vail Mountain Now Offering More than 1,000 Skiable Acres

  • Resort opens Game Creek Express (#7) and Northwoods Express (#11)
  • Additional terrain expected to open during course of the weekend

Vail Resorts logoVAIL, Colo. – Dec. 2, 2016On Friday morning, Vail Mountain began operating Game Creek Express (#7) and Northwoods Express (#11) and is now offering 1,072 skiable acres for skiers and snowboarders. On-mountain dining options are now also available at The 10th, Wildwood Smokehouse and Buffalo’s.

With more snow in the forecast and cold temperatures allowing for productive snowmaking, additional terrain is expected to open during the weekend at Vail.

Skiers and snowboarders now have access to the following lifts and 1,072 acres of skiable terrain in these areas on Vail Mountain:

  • Gondola One
  • Eagle Bahn Gondola
  • Avanti Express (#2)
  • Wildwood Express (#3)
  • Mountaintop Express (#4)
  • Game Creek Express (#7)
  • Born Free Express (#8)
  • Northwoods Express (#11)
  • Little Eagle (#15)

All guests are reminded that they must observe all posted signs and closures, especially during the early season. Closed trails may contain hazards due to early snow coverage. Accessing closed terrain is a violation of the Colorado Ski Safety Act and will result in the loss of skiing privileges and could involve prosecution and a fine.
