Everyone Orchestra to play Vilar Center on Jan. 14

VAIL, Colo., January 6 — The Vilar Performing Arts Center (VPAC) presents the musical group Everyone Orchestra on Thursday, January 14 at 7:30 p.m., featuring a revolving cast of stellar musicians brought together by drummer/conductor Matt Butler for concerts, festival super jams and special events.

EO CrowdThese performances are designed to create space for each performer’s musical personality to shine, engage the audience as participants in the jam and facilitate a massive celebratory coming together featuring a conductor directing musicians and audience alike in interactive, lively, and highly danceable movements.

Tickets to Everyone Orchestra are $28 and are on sale now at the VPAC Box Office (970.845.8497/ www.vilarpac.org). The VPAC is located under the ice rink in Beaver Creek Village (68 Avondale Lane, Beaver Creek, Colorado).

During their VPAC performance Everyone Orchestra will host musicians Michael Travis (String Cheese Incident), Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green), Rob Compa (Dopapod), Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), Jay Starling (Love Canon) and Natalie Cressman (Trey Anastasio Band).

Marching clearly into uncharted territory, Everyone Orchestra balances the challenges of live group improvisation with triumphant tension and release conduits of music which head deep into the soul. This unique collaborative of performance deeply encourages and requires audience interaction. The edge of your seat enthusiasm for what is next is the fuel behind the continuous musical experiment of Everyone Orchestra.

“The experience of playing with different musicians, improvising every night, and getting the crowd involved in ways that they can’t be at a regular show has provided an unparalleled live music experience,” said Butler. A laundry list of hundreds of musicians, dancers, singers, guest conductors and community organizations have embraced the experience of Everyone Orchestra in single shots of musical adrenaline to the soul. Tuning in to his energy, the band and audience utilize “The Conductor” as their pivot to the set mood of each passing jam as he communicates with the musicians using hand signs, whiteboard and assorted mime suggestions.

The list of Everyone Orchestra participants is an increasingly wide and intercontinental group including members of The Grateful Dead, Phish, Trey Anastasio Band, Gov’t Mule, String Cheese Incident, moe., members of Allman Brothers Band. including Oteil Burbridge, Yonder Mountain String Band, Big Gigantic, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Thievery Corporation, Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, The Flecktones, Tea Leaf Green and hundreds of others among a growing legion of performers.
