After kicking off the NorAm circuit with a strong showing in Calgary, American skiers performed well once again in the moguls and dual moguls NorAm held last weekend at Park City Mountain. Vail Valley skiers Tess Johnson and Heidi Kloser finished one-two in the single moguls event.

With no super final, Saturday’s results were taken from the round of 16. Johnson, who won the duals competition in Calgary the weekend before, took home another win in the women’s single moguls, and teammate Kloser claimed second. Kelly Lawson of Boulder finished third.

Other Ski & Snowboard Club Vail athletes also did well.

Emerson Smith (Frisco, CO/Ski & Snowboard Club Vail) took the win in singles for the men, his second NorAm podium of the season. Casey Andringa (Boulder, CO/Ski & Snowboard Club Vail) was second, with Canada’s Laurent Dumais in third.

The Australians had a strong showing in Sunday’s women’s duals competition, with Taylah O’Neill and Madi Himbury landing on the podium in first and third. USA’s Kaitlyn Harrell (Morro Bay, CA/Ski & Snowboard Club Vail) was second.

U.S. skiers swept the podium on the men’s side, with Joel Hedrick (Fort Collins, CO/Winter Park Competition Center) taking the win. Andringa was on the podium for the second time during the weekend, finishing second, with Troy Tully (Armonk, NY/Wasatch Freestyle) in third.

With the second NorAm competition of the season in the books, Emerson Smith is currently leading the men’s overall standings with 286 points. Tess Johnson is leading the women’s standings with 300 points. The tour continues Feb. 27-28 in Val St. Come, Quebec.
