Go Code Colorado — the award-winning app and business challenge bringing together a community of entrepreneurs, business partners and developers to make use of public data through a series of events — is hosting a pre-event in Avon, Colorado.

logoThe event is a celebration of the Colorado tech and entrepreneurship community. The 2016 challenge statement—the business problem that participants will be asked to address during the app challenge—will be discussed to allow the teams to work on their apps and business concepts much earlier and longer than previous years.

At stake: a mentor weekend in Boulder for the 10 semi-finalist teams, and $25,000 for the final three winning teams.

Go Code Colorado has won numerous awards including CIO Magazine CIO 100 Award (2015), the Colorado Technology Association Technology Project of the Year Award (2014), the International Association of Commercial Administrators Merit Award (2015), the National Association of Secretaries of State IDEAS Award (2015), and has been recognized as a Bright Idea by Harvard’s Kennedy School through its Innovations in American Government Awards competition.

Where: Vail Centre, 82 E Beaver Creek Blvd, Suite 202, Avon, CO 81620 (upstairs above Loaded Joes/Pazzos)

When: February 11, 6-8 PM

Who: Go Code Colorado organizers will welcome those interested in civic engagement and tech entrepreneurship.

Why: Go Code Colorado continues to help state agencies publish public data, with more data available on the Colorado Information Marketplace than ever before. The challenge taps into the creativity of entrepreneurs and app developers to make meaningful use of this data to help business leaders make more well-informed decisions.

Go Code Colorado activates tech entrepreneurship communities all across the state: the main event is a challenge weekend held April 1—3 in Colorado Springs, Denver, Durango, Fort Collins and Grand Junction.

Whether you are an app developer, entrepreneur, member of the press or a curious citizen—the pre-event has become a can’t-miss event for anyone wanting to network in and keep a pulse of the Vail/Eagle tech entrepreneurship community.

About Go Code Colorado: Go Code Colorado is a statewide business app challenge housed in Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams’ office. The award-winning challenge – the first and only statewide effort of its kind – brings together a community of entrepreneurs, business partners and software developers to use public data to solve business problems. Many private sector organizations support Go Code Colorado, including the 2016 challenge summit partner, AT&T.
