The skiing was super soft and fairly deep on Monday at Beaver Creek (Vail Resorts photo).

A winter storm that brought 17 inches of new snow to Beaver Creek Resort Saturday and Sunday will allow the ski area to open the majority of Grouse Mountain Tuesday and Larkspur Bowl on Wednesday, bringing the total skiable acreage to 1,181 acres of terrain accessed by 20 lifts.

On Tuesday, Grouse Mountain and the Grouse Mountain Express lift (#10) will open for the season, as will the trails Red Tail, Goshawk, lower Peregrine and lower Kestrel. Talons Restaurant will also open for the season Tuesday, featuring a European-inspired menu serving breakfast, lunch and après fare.

On Wednesday, Larkspur Bowl and the Larkspur Express Lift (#11) will open for the season, and Beaver Creek Expressway trail will also be open, offering access from the top of the Strawberry Park Express Lift (#12).

More snow is in the forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.
