Double Grammy Award-winner Bon Iver to play Whistle Pig Vail

Another day, another Grammy winner at the Whistle Pig Vail summer concert series at Vail’s iconic Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. This time its double Grammy-winner Bon Iver heading to Vail on Monday, Sept. 2

The announcement of Bon Iver – 2012 winner of the Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best New Artist – comes a day after Whistle Pig Vail announced Grammy-winner Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit on Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Sharon Van Etten opens for Bon Iver on Monday, Sept. 2. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for Bon Iver go on sale Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m. Go to the Whistle Pig Vail website or call (970) 845-8497.

General admission and reserved tickets for Bon Iver are $75 and $119.50 respectively, plus applicable service charges. All ages are welcome.

Bon Iver is described as American indie folk and was founded in 2006 by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon. Bon Iver won Grammy awards for the 2012 album Bon Iver, Bon Iver. Its latest album, 22, A Million, came out in 2016 and earned widespread critical acclaim.

Besides Bon Iver and Jason Isbell, the previously announced Whistle Pig Vail August shows include huge acts such as the Trey Anastasio Band Aug. 12-13, Steve Miller Band and Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives on Aug. 14 and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats on Aug. 19.
