Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate on Tuesday announced the listing of a luxury Vail home for $34 million, which would eclipse the recently established record sale of a single-family home in Vail of $23 million in the same neighborhood.

Here’s a press release from Slifer Smith & Frampton:

VAIL HOME GOES TO MARKET FOR $34 MILLION, SETTING NEW HIGH MARK FOR CUSTOM LUXURY HOME OFFERING IN VAIL VILLAGE

  • Luxury market continues to set records in renowned alpine resort

VAIL, Colo.—Feb. 28, 2017—With the Vail real estate market setting near-monthly records for luxury sales, the famed mountain town’s top real estate brokerage, Slifer Smith & Frampton (SSF), today released the area’s most exclusive village listing at $34 million, eclipsing last month’s record sale of $23 million in the same Vail Village neighborhood.

Acknowledged as a “Gore Creek Masterpiece,” the 11,007 square-foot tri-level contemporary home features five bedrooms and 10 baths on a prized .87 acre site abutting open space and Gore Creek; adjacent to a scenic trout pond, located equidistant from both the Lionshead and Vail Gondolas at 333 Beaver Dam Road.

Catherine Jones Coburn, the listing broker for SSF along with Donna Caynoski, described the listing in one of Vail’s most desirable neighborhoods.

“After being in the high-end luxury market in the mountains for 37 years, I’ve never seen a home of this quality and stature…ever,” said Jones Coburn. “The landscape, location, attention to detail and spectacular design all make the Beaver Dam home a one-of-a-kind luxury find in Vail Village.”

The home’s features include geothermal heating with two miles of in-ground piping for energy efficiency and interior and exterior materials not commonly seen in Vail. There are three stories of precision-cut limestone surrounding the contemporary midcentury modern home which integrates expansive glass with copper and zinc façades into the structure which fits naturally into the mature forest setting. Further, a majestic cantilevered patio overlooks the serenity and privacy of Gore Creek yet it is just minutes to the heart of village amenities.

Built in 2011, the home saw the work of renowned local firms who have a modernist bent. Architect Brian Judge, VAG, Inc., builder Charlie Dolan and interior designer Eddy Doumas of Worth Interiors collaborated. “The materials both inside and out are strikingly exotic,” said Doumas. “This home is about the views, simplicity and connection to the environment. The choice of striking and indigenous structural materials is as spectacular as the site itself.”

Real estate sales volume has eclipsed $198 million in the first 60 days of 2017, a 66% increase over 2016 sales during the same time period, catapulting luxury home sales to record-setting highs in Vail as buyers are snapping up one-of-a-kind properties in the nation’s premier ski resort.

“Discerning buyers are finding the truly exclusive neighborhoods and homes in the valley,” said Jim Flaum, managing broker for Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate. “Colorado continues to be one of the nation’s foremost destinations and Vail certainly draws in a segment of buyers who appreciate the Colorado lifestyle, beauty and access that we have as a resort and community.”
