The Vilar Performing Arts Center recently issued the following press release on Lang Lang performing at the Beaver Creek venue in March:

The Vilar Performing Arts Center is proud to announce that internationally acclaimed pianist Lang Lang will perform in recital on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 6:30 PM, as part of the Therese M. Grojean Classical Series. Heralded by the New York Times as “the hottest artist on the classical music planet,” Lang Lang brings his extraordinary artistry and magnetic stage presence to Beaver Creek for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of classical music in an intimate mountain setting.

“Presenting Lang Lang at the Vilar is a milestone moment,” said Cameron Morgan, Executive Director at the Vilar. “He represents everything we hope to achieve with the Therese M. Grojean Classical Series—world-class artistry, educational impact, and the power of music to bring communities together. Lang Lang’s ability to connect with audiences, whether performing for billions at the Olympics or in intimate recital halls like ours, makes him a perfect fit for this meaningful series at the Vilar.”

Lang Lang is a leading figure in classical music today as a pianist, educator and philanthropist who has become one of the world’s most influential and committed ambassadors for the arts in the 21st century. He has performed with all the world’s top orchestras and has ongoing collaborations with renowned conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Barenboim and Christoph Eschenbach.

Known for thinking outside the box and frequently stepping into different musical worlds, Lang Lang’s performances at the GRAMMY Awards with Metallica, Pharrell Williams and jazz legend Herbie Hancock have been watched by millions of viewers worldwide. He performed at the Olympic Opening Ceremony in Beijing in 2008 and regularly plays sold-out concerts all over the globe.

For about a decade, Lang Lang has contributed to musical education worldwide. In 2008 he founded the Lang Lang International Music Foundation aimed at cultivating tomorrow’s top pianists, championing music education at the forefront of technology, and building a young audience through live music experiences. In 2013, Lang Lang was designated by the Secretary General of the United Nations as a Messenger of Peace focusing on global education.

This evening’s program is set to include pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Isaac Albéniz, Enrique Granados, Franz Liszt and Ludwig van Beethoven.

Lang Lang joins a long list of Classical masterminds who have graced the Vilar stage, including Yo-Yo Ma, Joshua Bell, Sarah Chang, and more.

Therese M. Grojean Classical Series
Lang Lang’s performance will headline an exceptional winter 2025-2026 Therese M. Grojean Classical Series that showcases an exceptional range of world-class classical performances. The series is made possible through a transformative $350,000 gift to the nonprofit from longtime Beaver Creek resident Tom Grojean, made in memory of his late wife Therese (Terri).

“Our mother had an incredible passion for classical music and would have been absolutely thrilled to see Lang Lang perform at the Vilar,” said Bill and Mollie Grojean, Terri Grojean’s children. “She believed deeply in the power of music to inspire and educate, and having such a renowned artist perform in a series dedicated to her memory feels like the perfect tribute to her legacy.”

The series also features several other extraordinary performances that highlight the breadth and diversity of classical music:
