Vail celebrates Oktoberfest in style two weekends in a row in September. Here’s the full release from Highline Sports and Entertainment:
What: Munich comes to Vail for two full weekends of blown-out Bavarian fun emulating the world’s greatest celebration of beer, music and autumn: Oktoberfest. Vail Oktoberfest™ is a family affair, with events and activities for both adults and kids alike. The event is free and open to the public. This year, guests will see the return of many crowd favorites like Klement’s Bratwurst Eating Contests, Stein Lifting and Keg Bowling. Guests will also be delighted with Bavarian music and dancing, yodeling, alpenhorn blowing, authentic Bavarian food and beverages including delicious Klement’s bratwursts, pretzels, beverages from Hacker-Pschorr and Jägermeister and much more.
Vail Oktoberfest kicks off at 12 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11 in Lionshead with a new FAC (Friday Afternoon Club) – oom-pah style and will be followed by the Ceremonial Hacker-Pschorr Keg Tapping that evening, officially marking the start of Oktoberfest™ in Vail.
Where: Vail, Colorado. There’s no place like Vail for year-round recreation, outdoor pursuits and cultural activities in the heart of the Rockies. Located just two hours west of Denver, Vail’s fresh air, rugged beauty and charming pedestrian village await visitors.
When: Sept. 11 – 13 in Lionshead and Sept. 18 – 20 in Vail Village
Why: Throw on the lederhosen, tie up the dirndls and grab your stein because the lineup of entertainment for Vail Oktoberfest™ is not to be missed. All throughout Vail Oktoberfest™, guests will enjoy oom-pah music from Vail Oktoberfest™ legends Helmut Fricker and the Rhinelanders Band. In addition to the live music, guests can participate in Bavarian dancing demonstrations, see traditional alpenhorn blowing, hear yodeling and much more.
New this year: Vail Oktoberfest™ will start each Friday at 12 p.m. for FAC – oom-pah style! The Friday afternoon event will be honoring all active, inactive and retired military with (1) one complimentary beer. Additionally, there are a limited number of VIP tables available for FAC for businesses and individuals to enjoy reserved seating for eight people including the following for each person: Official 2015 Oktoberfest™ 1L stein, two complimentary beers and a bratwurst.
