Vail Holidaze returns and kicks off Sunday, Dec. 21 with Vail’s Tree Lighting Ceremony presented by Alpine Bank followed by the Lantern Walk at 5 p.m. at Slifer Plaza, Vail Village.
This family holiday celebration, with a short holiday stage program, will include live a cappella entertainment, appearances by the Mayor of Vail, special guests and of course the lighting of Vail’s holiday tree by the Covered Bridge in Vail Village. New this year, the tree lighting ceremony will be followed by the integration of a community wide public art project which will take place with the illumination of handmade paper lanterns at the tree lighting followed by a family lantern walk up Bridge Street to Mountain Plaza. LED batteries will be provided courtesy of Art in Public Places and Doe Browning. Complimentary hot chocolate will be served, at Vail’s Tree Lighting Ceremony as guests enjoy and ring in the holiday season.
