Taste of Vail celebrates 25 years with new Grand Tasting venue

As Taste of Vail enters its 25th year, more than 30 wineries have already committed to the four-day food and wine festival, which takes place April 8-11, 2015. In addition, Taste of Vail’s Grand Tasting on April 11 will delight guests in a new way as the signature event changes venues to the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail.

taste of vail 25th logo“With a beautiful new location for the Grand Tasting and dozens of wineries already on board, we can’t wait to reveal what else is in store for the 25th Annual Taste of Vail,” said Chris Chantler, chairman of the Taste of Vail Board. “Aside from keeping things new and exciting for our Taste of Vail participants, our 25th Anniversary promises to be an exceptional celebration.”

The 25th Annual Taste of Vail has already established an impressive list of participating wineries, including many that have been with the event since the near-beginning such as Grgich Hill Cellars, Gloria Ferrer, Saintsbury, ZD Winery and Louis Latour. Additional wineries include Rotie Cellars, Vineyard 29, Scott Harvey Wines and Darioush, all of which are known for world-class winemaking standards and pedigrees.

Taste of Vail kicks off on Wednesday, April 8 with the 2nd Annual Debut of Rosé. After a wildly successful inaugural event in 2014, the Debut of Rosé will give guests the chance to experience just released 2014 rosés for first time. The event will have more than 100 rosé varietals to sample.

On Thursday, April 9 enjoy the American Lamb Cook-Off and Après Ski Tasting in heart of Vail Village. Sample an array of lamb dishes courtesy of the Vail Valley’s greatest chefs and the American Lamb Board. In the theme of “Life Beyond Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot,” Taste of Vail’s participating wineries will be showcasing a wide array of varietals, which include Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Zinfandel.

The Mountaintop Picnic takes place on Frday, April 10 at the top of Vail Mountain. At 10,350 feet above sea level, enjoy a spectacular view while a number of highly acclaimed Vail Valley chefs prepare a gourmet feast paired perfectly with Taste of Vail wineries.

Experience the grandest of all wine and food tastings on Saturday, April 11 as Taste of Vail’s annual Grand Tasting finds a new home at the Four Seasons Resort and Residences in the center of Vail. The signature event will feature all of Taste of Vail’s wineries and restaurants and will include a special Silent Auction.

Taste of Vail is the nation’s premier spring food and wine festival, held at several different venues throughout North America’s most popular mountain resort from April 8-11, 2015. In addition to the new seminars offered during the 25th Annual Taste of Vail, the event will include, the 2nd Annual Debut of Rosé, the Colorado Lamb Cook-off and Après Ski Tasting, the Mountaintop Picnic and the Grand Tasting.
