Here are some of the disturbing facts about teenage driving in Colorado:

“One teenager killed, three others injured in Fort Lupton Car Crash”  June 3, 2014

“Greeley teenager killed in traffic accident after rolling stop sign”  June 2, 2014

Teenagers make up 7% of the Colorado drivers but 15% of the fatal accidents.

But now through a program sponsored by Ford Motor Company we have an opportunity to help improve teenage driving and reduce the number of fatalities.

ford-car-company-logoFord’s Driving Skills for Life program will be in Denver July 22-23 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. If you aren’t familiar with the DSFL program it is a FREE driving intensive program for teen drivers. The program focuses on driving skills and hazards that teens don’t get in a regular driver training program such as distracted driving (including texting), vehicle handling, driving under the influence, and obstacle identification and reaction. It is an awesome hands-on driving experience led by professional drivers and using Ford vehicles as the demonstration cars.

The Denver program will consist of two sessions per day for a total of four sessions. Each session can hold 100 students and we hope to have every space filled. Students must have a permit OR driver’s license, register online at www.drivingskillsforlife.com<http://www.drivingskillsforlife.com>, and bring a guardian-signed release which can also be found on the website.  Please visit www.drivingskillsforlife.com<http://www.drivingskillsforlife.com> for videos from the program and additional information.
