Westin Athletic Club offering Barre Fitness Certification Workshop for instructors on Feb. 23
The Athletic Club at The Westin is offering a Barre Fitness Certification Workshop for instructors on Saturday, Feb. 23.
The workshop, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will offer Definitive Barre Fitness Certification, a nationally recognized program that is approved by the American Fitness & Aerobics Association (AFAA). This workshop will train employees as elite Barre Instructors.
The Athletic Club is also hosting a Barre Master Class on Friday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. that is open to public at a cost of $20 per person.
Instructors must meet several pre-requisites to participate in the certification course, including:
• Must currently hold, or be enrolled to receive a certification from a Nationally recognized Fitness Association (AFAA, ACE etc.) within six months after DBF Certification
• Must take one Barre Class from either Elizabeth Sullivan, Marisa Malzone, Elizabeth
Vino or Randi Coy prior to attending the certification
• Must have rhythm and be able to count to the beat of music
• Background in dance, Pilates, yoga, Zumba, group exercise preferred
The class will be taught by Denver-based Definitive Barre Fitness, LLC co-founders Elizabeth Vino and Randi Coy. A former ballerina, Vino has been teaching dance since age 15 and has taught adults, children in Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Creative Movement and Barre. Coy, a nationally certified group fitness instructor, teaches a variety of fitness classes, including spin, boxing, kickboxing, mat Pilates, yoga, circuit training and sculpting.

The Athletic Club at The Westin offers more than 27,000 square feet of wellness space, including a Pilates Studio with 4 Reformers, a Cycling Studio with an 10 person multi-rider Computrainer program and a Movement Studio with TRX Total Body Workout, Stroops Performance training, Pilates Barre, Kickboxing and Zumba.
Studio Anjali at The Westin Riverfront offers an extensive schedule of class times and styles, including Vinyasa Flow, Hot Flow, Foundations, Anusara, Anjali Restorative, Kundalini and Meditation
The Athletic Club at The Westin is currently accepting new members, with monthly fees starting at $115 for individuals and $170 for families, plus a one-time initiation fee.
