Colorado Mountain Express employees contribute to flood relief in Boulder

For employees of Colorado Mountain Express (CME) and Beaver Creek Resort Transportation, their involvement in the Sept. 21 Eagle County Echo Day was just the beginning. In light of the massive floods striking Colorado, and the resulting re-direction of the Front Range Echo project, eight CME vans made the 100-mile trek to Boulder last Saturday, Oct. 5, to aid in local flood relief efforts.

There, CME and Beaver Creek Resort Transportation employees joined forces with 150 Vail Resorts employees to partner with Boulder County Parks and Open Space (BCPOS) and restore the Coal Creek trail system, where four miles of trails were washed out by the floods. This work was critical for the community, and one of BCPOS’s top priorities, as the route serves as a connector trail for commuters and recreational users in Superior, Erie and Lafayette.

The project’s efforts are in addition to a significant financial contribution pledged by Vail Resorts to benefit the Colorado Red Cross Disaster Relief. In the wake of the disaster, the Company made an immediate $100,000 contribution, in addition to pledging a $1 donation for every season pass sold in Colorado, which will more than double its overall contribution. The Company also worked with Colorado Red Cross so establish a website at http://www.redcross.org/vailresorts-emp for its 22,000 employees to contribute to the flood relief efforts directly.
