It really doesn’t get much better than this: super-sunny weather for the Birds of Prey downhill on Friday, Dec. 4, a quick blast of snow on Saturday just in time for tons of new terrain to open at Beaver Creek (and the men’s World Cup super-G), a couple more warm, dry days, and then a major blast of winter next week.

Beaver Creek logoThe Vail Valley has already seen some of the best early-season conditions in years, with Vail opening its Back Bowls on Thursday, and now meteorologist Joel Gratz of Opensnow.com says we’ll see a lot more snow as we head into the prime holiday season:

“After a dry day on Friday, we’ll see a bit of snow on Saturday morning in the central and northern mountains, likely adding up to 1-3 inches,” Gratz wrote on Thursday. “Then Sunday and Monday should be dry, with a chance for light snow to fall in the northern mountains on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then a stronger and colder storm should bring snow to most of the state on Thursday and Friday, with cold air and chances for snow continuing through December 15th, at least.”

Here’s a press release from Beaver Creek on all the terrain opening Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4-5:
